# Empowering Indonesia’s Digital Future: The Alibaba Cloud 2024 Student Internship Program
In an era where digital agility defines the success of modern enterprises, PT Alibaba Cloud Indonesia stands as a cornerstone of technological advancement and reliable infrastructure. As a premier subsidiary of the global Alibaba Group, the company has consistently pushed the boundaries of cloud computing, offering secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions tailored for the burgeoning e-commerce and online business sectors.
## The Evolution of Alibaba Cloud in the Indonesian Market
Since its inception, PT Alibaba Cloud Indonesia has been a pioneer in localized cloud services. By establishing the first global public cloud platform in the country in 2018, the company provided Indonesian businesses with a domestic choice for data sovereignty and high-speed connectivity. This commitment grew rapidly with the launch of a second data center in 2019 and a third in early 2021.
To ensure the highest level of security for its clients, Alibaba Cloud also introduced a dedicated data scrubbing center. This facility is specifically designed to protect industries vulnerable to cyber threats, such as the financial services and gaming sectors, by mitigating complex DDoS attacks and ensuring uninterrupted digital operations.
